Wood shafts are heavily anisotropic and release uncontrollable forces during hit.
This is a result of the structure of the wood, the part of the tree where is coming from and the weight distribution in the length.

Renzo Longoni in the late sixties deeply analyzed the problem coming to the conclusion that
nature has to be recreated.
He decided to cut slices of wood , select them by weight and quality to recreate a perfect shafts
using just best pieces.

In the 2004 the project was improved with new techniques and special glues, giving life to
S2 made of 10 higly selected wood parts.

JBR FERRULES

JBR ferrules are made of a sophisticated thermoplastic material specially developed for the billiard game.
Longoni technicians decided to move from the glorious CBR2 material for several reasons.
JBR ferrules are much more resistants to shocks, they have a smooth surface that help them to stay clean, they can be glued easily using Longoni 977 special glue and they have been tested by the best PRO in the game.
JBR ferrules are available in several sizes and length to be adapted on each different Longoni shaft.
